While most towns are established and named right away, Pace didn’t receive an official name until the early 1900s. A man by the name of James Pace opened and operated a mill in the area for over 20 years. The town was eventually named to honor Mr. Pace. In the 1930s, the mill was reopened and named the Paper and Pulp Company.
There are five schools that offer exceptional educational opportunities to those who live in the area. Pea Ridge Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The public school has 782 students enrolled annually. The S.S. Dixon Intermediate School serves students in grades three through five. This school enrolls just shy of 800 students annually.
The S.S. Dixon Primary School serves students in kindergarten through second grade. There are 706 students enrolled annually. Thomas L. Sims Middle School serves students in grades sixth through eighth. There are currently 932 students enrolled annually.
Pace High School serves grades ninth through twelfth. There are 1,922 students enrolled annually. Each school in the area has a notable success rate for academic achievement.
Recreation & Parks in Pace
There are plenty of things to do and enjoy when living in this popular town. The Stonebrook Golf Course is a popular attraction to many residents. It offers an 18-hole course that is mostly private and secluded.
Para is another spectacular recreational event that offers sports for all ages. The staff manages and supplies coaches for football, baseball, and softball.
The variety of parks in the area offer all-day fun for the whole household. There is fishing, swimming, and hiking to enjoy while exploring the magnificent wildlife in the area.

The average low temperature is 53 degrees in January, but it has dropped to as low as 44 degrees. The month with the most rainfall is August with 8.3 inches recorded.
There are plenty of places to shop and things see in this town. The Antique Depot has a large scale of antiques to see and buy. The Ridge Cinema 8 offers new movies and frequent play times for convenience. The Oops Alley is a fun place to visit and play a variety of exciting games.
