Pace History

While most towns are established and named right away, Pace didn’t receive an official name until the early 1900s. A man by the name of James Pace opened and operated a mill in the area for over 20 years. The town was eventually named to honor Mr. Pace. In the 1930s, the mill was reopened and named the Paper and Pulp Company.
